چکیده

Cerebellins (CBLN1–4), together with C1qTNF proteins, belong to the CBLN subfamily of C1q proteins. Cerebellin-1 (CBLN1) is active in synapse formation and functions at parallel fiber-Purkinje cell synapses. form tripartite complexes neurexins glutamate-receptor-related proteins GluD1 GluD2, playing a role as trans-synaptic cell-adhesion molecules that critically contribute both functioning brain development. In this study, I present molecular characterization four porcine genes. Experimental data silico analyses collectively describes gene structure, chromosomal localization, expression CBLN1-4. Two cDNAs encoding cerebellins CBLN1 CBLN3 were RT-PCR cloned sequenced. The nucleotide sequence clone contains an open reading frame 582 nucleotides encodes protein 193 amino acids. deduced acid was 99% identical mouse human CBLN1. putative signal 21 residues, two conserved cysteine domain. cDNA comprises 618 205 88% 94% CBLN3. terminal ends contain three possible N-linked glycosylation sites. genomic organization very similar those their counterparts. demonstrated transcripts are predominantly expressed cerebellum. sequences precerebellin genes submitted DDBJ/EMBL/GenBank under following accession numbers: (GenBank ID: FJ621565), EF577504), FJ621566), EF577505) CBLN4 FJ196070).

Cerebellin and des-cerebellin exert ACTH-like effects on corticosterone secretion and the intracellular signaling pathway gene expression in cultured rat adrenocortical cells--DNA microarray and QPCR studies.

Precerebellins (Cbln) belong to the C1q/TNF superfamily of secreted proteins which have diverse functions. They are abundantly expressed in the cerebellum, however, three of them are also expressed in the rat adrenal gland. All members of the Cbln family form homomeric and heteromeric complexes with each other in vitro and it was suggested that such complexes play a crucial role in normal devel...

The cerebellin 4 precursor gene is a direct target of SRY and SOX9 in mice.

In most mammals, the expression of SRY (sex-determining region on the Y chromosome) initiates the development of testes, and thus determines the sex of the individual. However, despite the pivotal role of SRY, its mechanism of action remains elusive. One important missing piece of the puzzle is the identification of genes regulated by SRY. In this study we used chromatin immunoprecipitation to ...

Gene Family: Structure, Organization and Evolution

Gene families are considered as groups of homologous genes which they share very similar sequences and they may have identical functions. Members of gene families may be found in tandem repeats or interspersed through the genome. These sequences are copies of the ancestral genes which have underwent changes. The multiple copies of each gene in a family were constructed based on gene duplicati...

The NBPF Gene Family

Neuroblastoma is one of the most intensely studied solid malignancies that affect children (Maris & Matthay, 1999). These tumours are heterogeneous biologically and clinically. One subset of neuroblastoma is susceptible to spontaneous apoptosis with little or no therapy and another subset differentiates over time, but most of these tumours are difficult to cure with current treatments. A relati...

topographic findings of the porcine cornea

the porcine eye is often used as an ex vivo animal model in ophthalmological research. it is well-suited for investigations concerning refractive surgery; however, corneal topography data are scarce. this study investigated the corneal topography and pachymetry of the porcine eye to provide further reproducible data. we evaluated freshly enucleated porcine eyes (n = 16) by performing computeriz...
